Comings and Goings
This year our office was enhanced by the addition of Tracy DeLaney and Carla Blackman. They are working with the Public Health Institute and The California Endowment to coordinate chronic disease prevention across all the Southern California Departments of Public Health. Tracy has great experience in the application of public health evidence, in part from her leadership of San Diego’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work grant.
We also brought on Kavita Gavand who is adding capacity for data management and analysis for our NIH studies. She has background in exercise science and nutrition, and she is an extreme swimmer.
The whole office celebrated Ding Ding obtaining her PhD in public health with an emphasis in health behavior research. She is now based at the University of Sydney, Australia, where she is working with my long-time friend Adrian Bauman.
In these difficult times we were especially pleased that Marc Adams, PhD obtained a tenure-track position at Arizona State University. He is joining a very strong group of investigators there, but he is continuing to work on our IPEN studies.
